Rachel Howfield is a visual artist working across several disciplines. Her work explores how we become who we are, our public and private selves. Her work addresses themes of identity with reference to feminism.

She is interested in the action of memory, and how we construct our reality from a patchwork of remembered events and sensations. Fragile layers of meaning and ‘truth’ are built on memories that are shifting and unstable.
